"Kind of functional style"

brian mcallister commented on my last post, and basically agreed with me that it‘s not easy to talk about this technique, due to the labelling problem. brian‘s variant is to call it a “kind of functional style“, but notes that this is both inaccurate and much too broad. well, yes, but, otoh, the distinctions between a lot of these terms tends to be of the hair-splitting sort, in my opinion. to put it in inheritance terms, i find the buzzwords that i listed earlier (and i forgot some, of course: how, for example, could i forget “continuations”[1] ??!!), to be subclasses of some common ancestor. my problem is that i don‘t know what the superclass is called! and that‘s kind of annoying. anyway, i finally got around to reading the mucho ci...
