Observations

on monday morning i was walking in the slow dawn, and coming to the end of a cul-de-sac (with a walkway through to the street i wanted) i noticed birds. many, many pigeons, sitting on the phone lines with so many on each that the wires dipped in the middle. as i approached, some flew up and over to a nearby roof, and others flew back. their wings made beating noises in the air. a man walked to the end of his driveway in his slippers, putting his rubbish out for collection. there was confusion as birds flew away from me toward him, and then back again. as i walked under the wires and the birds, i hoped that none would choose to target me with their spatter, and thought briefly of how hitchcock had forever changed my view of avians. mayhap they were keeping an eye on someone? more lik...
