N70 drops off the network in dual mode

after six weeks, everything is nice and dandy with the Nokia n70. everything but one very annoying deal breaker: if the phone is in "dual mode", which means it connects to gsm/gprs or umts (3g) networks, then it so happens that the phone becomes unavailable. there is no indication......
