as is the case with a lot of local politics, a particular town is mostly rife with one particular political point of view. my town is no exception with the "progressive" politics winning out. it is not a surprise that Dennis Kucinich is the preferred democrat candidate. so my "to right of ronald reagan" politics is a bit of a slap to some of the other town meeting members. but we all get over it. there was a kindly little lady sitting in front of me, quizzing me about my troglodyte politics. she just could not believe that i support george bush or the war in iraq. finally, in exasperation she said "you have such a kind face, how can you be a republican?"before this is over, she is going to be my best friend....
