win or go home - the official version as denizens of the political blogosphere no doubt already know, a major dem has thrown down the "win or leave" gauntlet to the president, in a formulation that echoes my post on the subject from monday. the major dem is 2004 presidential contender wesley clark, a likely candidate in 2008 whose stock just went up a great deal as a result of staking a firm and coherent position on the war. and just to head off the anticipated line of objection, clark is, in my experience, broadly respected in the democratic party and would likely have won the nomination over Kerry last year if he had either declared his candidacy earlier, or had held some kind of elected office. hardly any democrat has a bad thing to say about his political ideology. the doubts within th...
